Your Guide to a Cosy Little Christmas Photoshoot

Thank you so much for booking your Christmas mini photoshoot with me! I can’t wait to welcome you and your little ones for a little dose of Christmas magic!

Whether this is your first Christmas photoshoot with me or you’re a returning client, I’ve put together this guide to give you a little glimpse of this year’s set, some outfit inspiration and everything you need to know before your session.

A Little Look at This Year’s Christmas Set

This year, I’ve created a cosy, timeless Christmas scene inspired by the simple magic of Christmas at home.

At the heart of the set is a cosy fireplace dressed with lush pine foliage, delicate twinkling lights and traditional hanging stockings. You’ll also find beautifully wrapped presents, glowing candles, a little Christmas tree and traditional Christmas toys to keep them entertained.

I hope you love the set as much as I’ve loved putting it together!

What to Wear?

Choosing outfits is always part of the fun! The right colours and textures can make such a difference to your finished photographs.

If you’re looking for a little inspiration, I’ve saved some outfit ideas to my Instagram highlights. If you spot something you love, just let me know and I’ll happily send you a link.

Here are a few ideas that would work beautifully with this year’s set.

Colours to Consider

  • Cream, ivory, beige and warm neutrals

  • Soft browns, caramel and muted earthy tones

  • Traditional Christmas reds and burgundy

  • Forest green, sage and deep pine

Outfit Ideas

  • Cosy knitted jumpers and matching knit sets

  • Classic Christmas party dresses

  • Smart and festive outfits

  • Christmas PJs

Most importantly, choose something that feels like your family and suits your little ones’ personalities. Please feel free to bring along a second outfit if you’d like a little variety in your gallery.

A Little Practical Note

To help keep the set looking lovely and clean for every family, please remove outdoor shoes before stepping onto the set.

You’re very welcome to bring clean indoor party shoes, socks or tights, or simply let little toes peek out for a sweet, natural look.

And please don’t worry if your little ones aren’t keen on following directions! The most important thing is that they feel happy and comfortable. Some of the best shots come from those lovely little in-between moments.

On the Day of Your Session

To help everything run smoothly, please arrive on time and wearing your first outfit choice. Sessions are scheduled back-to-back, so arriving promptly helps us make the most of our time together. Unfortunately, late arrivals will mean shorter sessions.

When you arrive, please head upstairs to the waiting area, and I’ll come to greet you as soon as I’m ready.

The number of images I’m able to capture will depend on how your children engage during the session, but please rest assured that I’ll do my very best to capture a lovely variety of moments for you.

Remaining Balance

The outstanding balance of £100 is due on the day of your session and can be paid by cash or bank transfer.

After Your Photoshoot

Within a week of your session, you’ll receive an email with a link to your online viewing gallery, where you can choose your 3 favourite photographs, included in your session fee.

Once you’ve made your selection, I’ll complete the final edits, including any gentle retouching needed.

If you fall in love with more than 3 images (which is very easy to do!), there are also options to upgrade your package with additional digital images, a beautiful Christmas mini album or mounted fine-art prints. These make lovely keepsakes or thoughtful Christmas gifts for grandparents!

Christmas Mini Album

The album upgrade includes 7 additional digital images on top of your 3 included images, giving you 10 digital images in total, along with your Christmas mini album.

Want to order extra mini albums as gifts? Additional copies are just £20 each.

Mounted Fine-Art Prints

Beautiful mounted prints make a timeless way to display your favourite photographs or give a special Christmas gift.

  • 6 × 4 print with 8 × 6 mount — £25

  • 7 × 5 print with A4 mount — £30

  • 8 × 6 print with 10 × 8 mount — £35

  • 10 × 8 print with 12 × 10 mount — £40

  • A4 print with 16 × 12 mount — £45

All prints feature a unique deckled edge for a beautiful, timeless finish.

Print order deadline: 5th December.
